Heather Farm is still the subject of concern. Woking Borough Council and Surrey County Council have both identified the site as a potential location for waste treatment. Meanwhile English Nature has objected to an application for a change of use consent for warehousing and a small element of industrial. Blue Prince Mushrooms, the owners of the site, are at present investigating how it might achieve a change of use that is to the satisfaction of English Nature. Horsell Common Preservation Society owns the track that gives access to the site and has said that access over the track will not be provided until such time as English Nature is sufficiently satisfied to withdraw its objections to a change of use application.
