Refurbishment of the car parks
Hi, What a wonderful job you have done of both carparks at the common, (Six crossroads and Sandy Track) but in particular at six crossroads. The new layout encourages better car parking and it's great to see spaces for handicapped drivers. You don't seem to have lost any spaces, (a major concern when first mooted). The surface will make a huge difference to car park when it rains (as it will surely do soon!). Well done.

You don't seem to have much if anything on your website at the moment - apologies if I have been unable to find it - about the splendid tree sculpture Pegasus that you have apparently commissioned and has now been completed. I do a blog about Woking www.heartofsurrey.wordpress.com and have received more than 100 hits on the subject in the last three days. People out there are very interested in it, and would like to know about it - more than I am able to tell them - Link. Probably there will be news items in the local papers this week that will tell us more.

I love Pegasus. The sculpture is dramatic and uplifting. In these dark days it's fantastic to turn the sad loss of such a wonderful tree into such a vibrant figure. Thank you for having such vision.

Just a quick thank you for the work you have done on the Pegasus wood carving. I live in Alwyne Court (flat’s next door to the wood carving), and it makes me smile every time I walk past it. Keep up the good work.

Just a note to say how fantastic I think the project is with the old tree which is being transformed into Pegasus ! This is taking place at the end of the Brewery Rd footpath and I think it is such a beautiful idea to do something creative and longlasting with a tree struck by a tornado. I have been watching the talented team with their chainsaws every time I pass - its fascinating to watch ! Well done to whomever thought of this - its a refreshing and contemporary delight for all to see.

I have seen the new statue of the flying horse opposite Brewery Road car park and think it is beautiful. Well done for creating such a lovely new landmark. Woking has been sadly lacking in public art until now. Thank you.

Can I just say, that as a resident of Horsell, and living in the block of flats next to the woods where "Pegasus" is currently being built - It is absoloutley stunning, and I enjoy going out everyday to see how much more work has been done. I cant wait to see the end result, and hope that it becomes a permanent feature of the area.

It is with increasing awe and admiration that I cycle past the emergence of Pegasus from the stricken oak tree opposite Brewery Road car park entrance. What a brave and wonderful way of keeping alive a 250 year-old part of our history.
My congratulations to Paul Rimmer (with whom I had a very instructive chat the other day) and his team. Also to the group of talented artists who have risen (quite literally) to the task.

Congratulations on the wooden sculpture of Pegasus on the common near Brewery Road car park. Apart from being a wonderful local landmark it is a brilliant use of a storm damaged tree. The sculpture is inspired and looks fantastic! Thank you and well done to all involved!

Just would like to say how wonderful the Pegasus horse is that has been sculpted and carved from a tree on Brewery Road. I am amazed by the skill and artistry of the team, who have come up from Somerset to produce the horse. Please say thank you to everyone involved in getting this project off the ground - literally - it is fantastic.

Paul, I have met you, I live in the Grove and am a regular walker with our Jack Russell in the beautiful woods which we find ourselves surrounded by. I must admit, over the last two years I have noticed a remarkable change in the area, all for the better. Wonderful walks, new paths formed, seats made, general tidying and the very latest, out of the blue, the 'Horsell Horse'. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, VISUALLY STUNNING - A MASTERPIECE!! Thank-you. Keep up the good work it is greatly appreciated.

Praise for Young Volunteers and for New Walking Area
"Can I just say what a great job the volunteers are doing creating the new circular path from the new car park at 6 crossroads. I really don't see what the issue is about crossing roads - if you use that area then you don't need to cross any roads, and it's a delightful change to the other routes from 6 crossroads.
Good luck with the project, especially as it will be wheelchair accessible which is a welcome addition to the area."
Bob Bruce - Woking Resident and Great Dane walker!
